Nexus 4 bumper woes, 3rd party cases considered

Choosing the right case to accommodate your smartphone is something worth investigating, especially if you are short on funds and do not want to risk damaging your new LG Nexus 4. As more companies look at various ways to create the best case possible it’s worth considering most products on the market and what sort of response they are getting.

The official Nexus 4 bumper case is the ideal phone case in black for around £15.99, in fact it’s that good they are still out of stock on Google Play. While we wait patiently for stocks to replenish, it’s worth mentioning a few hands-on reviews with the official Nexus 4 bumper in our previous post. It is worth pointing out that these cases are not ideal for the most extreme activities, as they will not protect your device from water, dust and dirt.

We showed an embedded visual review of the official Nexus 4 Bumper case, and although it has been regarded as a bit ‘iPhone-ish’, it has also been praised for not adding much to the thickness of the phone, and looks nice at the same time. The case is said to be ‘slightly raised above’ the display, giving owners the opportunity to put a screen protector on the phone, although we question whether they had this in mind when it was designed or whether they just got lucky.

Those of you intending to get a case similar to this as soon as possible may not want to wait for the depleted stocks to fill up, so we are interested in whether some third party cases on offer are just as enticing. On Amazon, they have the Poetic Borderline Bumper Case dropped from $19.95 to a sale price of $9.95, with multiple colors to choose from, although we are currently only seeing black and grey versions on their site. The main thing is, there are no stock issues at present. Therefore, are you willing to wait for stock to return for the official Nexus 4 bumper case, or would you be consider a 3rd party case like the one just mentioned?
