Samsung Galaxy Nexus: Release Date hints and last minute video preview

It’s almost 10am here in sunny Hong Kong and we are just minutes away from the start of Google and Samsung’s big Ice Cream Sandwich and Galaxy Nexus smartphone event. Before that takes place though, we have one video to show you which definitely confirms that the handset is coming.

We all knew that the Galaxy Nexus would be joining Ice Cream Sandwich for a full reveal in Hong Kong, but leaks of the device are now popping up everywhere, even including on Samsung’s official website when searching for ‘Galaxy Nexus’ – that listing alone confirms that the device will land on Verizon too, in case you needed yet more confirmation.

As for the video, the quality is far from perfect but it definitely is the Galaxy Nexus here that we’re seeing, running Ice Cream Sandwich as well. You can identify the same boot-up animation that we told you about here, while the user in the video offers a very brief tour around some of the new changes in Ice Cream Sandwich, and the obvious UI which has now been revamped from Gingerbread too.

Unfortunately, the video doesn’t offer any further design clues, but if you don’t know what the device is going to look like yet, a promotional image for the device as seen below gives you a good idea. Also check out that wonderful curve too which has been the subject of much debate lately:

If the video and picture wasn’t enough for you, further intel uncovered by Droid-Life has even hinted that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Nexus may be releasing on November 10th, alongside the recently announced Motorola RAZR as well – we’ll get on to that shortly though. You can check out a chart showing upcoming Verizon launches through the link to Droid-Life.

With all that said and done, we just want to see the device live on stage now – are you ready for the big announcement? Many consumers are not too impressed with the iPhone 4S and one of the main reasons for this is that the Galaxy Nexus is the more desirable handset – let’s see if it lives up to expectations.
