Watch replay of Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0, Galaxy Nexus event

We have some great news for all those of you who missed Google’s Andy Rubin debut the brand new Galaxy Nexus smartphone to the world on stage in Hong Kong yesterday, as Google has now put the entire live stream up for replay on the official Android YouTube channel.

The video is available in full, the whole hour of it – well 57 minutes anyway. If you want to see the exact moment when the latest and arguably greatest Android device was announced, you’ll find it in the video below around the 8 minute mark – also note the somewhat terrible audience which fail to clap at times, leading to a brief period of awkwardness.

Anyway, during the video you’ll also see Google unveil Ice Cream Sandwich to the world as well, and give a detailed run-through of all the main features that the new software possesses. These include things like the new interface obviously, but also brand new never-before seen features like Face Unlock and Android Beam, although Face Unlock didn’t exactly work as planned but you get the idea of it anyway.

Also revealed for Ice Cream Sandwich is the ability to send text messages by voice-only just like Siri, and also like Apple, the Galaxy Nexus will be able to make use of Google’s Cloud services, which will allow users to store images and music to save up space on the device – it only comes with 16 or 32GB storage capacities remember, with no MicroSD slot for external memory.

One of the most impressive features of the Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich is the new data usage options on the device, as you’ll be able to track your data usage with much more accuracy, even being able to set caps depending on the limits you want to use each month, so you won’t go over your allowance again.

Watch the whole even below and give us your thoughts on it. How impressed are you with the Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 – excited for the future or not?
